Anne Hathaway is setting the record straight on the plastic surgery rumors that have surrounded her recent red carpet appearances.
The 43 year old actress addressed speculation about her youthful appearance in a candid new interview, shutting down claims that she secretly underwent cosmetic procedures and revealing that one of her biggest beauty “secrets” is far simpler than fans imagined.
Speaking about the online chatter, Hathaway explained that people today often become overly confident in turning assumptions into facts, even when those assumptions are not always accurate.

“We’re at a time when people feel very confident in assuming what they think is fact, and sometimes what they think is accurate, and sometimes it’s not,” Hathaway shared.
The conversation comes after fans began speculating about the actress’ appearance following her glamorous outings earlier this year, with many questioning whether she had undergone a facelift or other cosmetic work.
Rumors intensified after Hathaway’s striking Academy Awards appearance, where fans praised her lifted and refreshed look.
In response, the “Devil Wears Prada 2” star posted a behind the scenes clip from her Oscars glam session, revealing the surprisingly simple hairstyling trick responsible for part of the effect.

Created by hairstylist Orlando Pita, the method involved two small braids hidden near either side of Hathaway’s temples, gently pulled back and pinned to subtly lift the face without surgery.
“And you look a little bit more awake,” Hathaway joked in the clip. “That’s the trick.”
Addressing whether the viral braid tutorial was meant to quiet speculation, Hathaway admitted the growing conversation eventually became impossible to ignore.
“The speculation has gotten so loud that you do feel the need to just get your truth out there,” she explained. “And I’ll probably always wonder, ‘Should I have posted that or not? Should I have just kept going and done the thing that makes me happy and makes me feel more confident on the red carpet?’ But I felt like the conversation was becoming distracting.”

Hathaway also pointed out that people were making assumptions about what she described as deeply personal medical choices.
“These are huge medical decisions that people are presuming,” she said. “I wanted to show that like, no, I didn’t make a huge medical decision. It’s just two braids.”
Still, the Oscar winner was refreshingly honest about the future, admitting she does not entirely rule out cosmetic procedures down the line.
“I might still get a facelift someday,” Hathaway revealed.
While the actress may have silenced one rumor, she is also celebrating major professional success. “The Devil Wears Prada 2,” starring Hathaway alongside Meryl Streep and Emily Blunt, recently arrived in theaters to strong box office numbers.

The highly anticipated sequel reportedly earned $76.7 million domestically during its opening weekend, surpassing the original 2006 film’s $27.5 million debut.
Worldwide, the movie brought in $156.6 million in its opening weekend, pushing its global total to an impressive $233.6 million.
Between addressing speculation with honesty and celebrating a blockbuster hit, Hathaway appears to be navigating both Hollywood scrutiny and career highs on her own terms.
