Champions League: Liverpool Predicted Starting XI Against AC Milan

On matchday five, Liverpool would not recreate their goal-laden Estadio do Dragao exploits of the past, as a revamped Reds squad welcomed Porto to Anfield, having already secured their place in the knockout stages.

However, the Reds put up a professional display to win 2-0 and maintain their perfect record in Group B, with Thiago Alcantara scoring a stunning goal before Mohamed Salah added his trademark goal.

Only Ajax and Bayern Munich had a pristine record of five victories from five games heading into the final matchweek, but the Reds were bailed out by last-minute hero Divock Origi in the dying minutes of a hard-fought 1-0 triumph against Wolverhampton Wanderers.

The Reds’ incredible two-goal-per-game record, which had lasted 18 games before the trip to Molineux, came to an end with that tight victory, but they have now won five games in a row in all competitions and have scored eight goals in their two away games in Group B thus far.

Roberto Firmino, Curtis Jones, Harvey Elliott, and the suspended James Milner are all out. Joe Gomez and Naby Keita have returned to training and could return in midweek.

With nothing on the line, Gomez and Keita will almost certainly not be risked right away, but Tyler Morton and Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain should have opportunity to start in the midfield while Thiago Alcantara rests.

Ibrahima Konate, Kostas Tsimikas, Neco Williams, and Takumi Minamino could all be called into the starting XI, with Origi – whom Klopp joked he’d write a book about – leading the line.

Liverpool XI: Alisson; Williams, Konate, Van Dijk, Tsimikas; Morton, Henderson, Oxlade-Chamberlain; Salah, Origi, Minamino
