Liverpool snap up Japan international Wataru Endo in $20m deal

Liverpool reportedly signed the Japanese midfielder for around 20 million dollars who has represented his country 50 times.

Liverpool have confirmed signing the Stuttgart midfielder this friday.

It was not disclosed how much money Liverpool had to pay the german club for his services, but British media has reported it was around 20 million dollars.

Wataru Endo had this to say on signing for Liverpool

“I’m very happy right now and I’m so excited to join a big club in Liverpool.”

He also added it was his dream to play in the Premier League and to be able to do it with a top club like was a dream come true.

“It feels amazing and this is my dream. It’s always (been) a dream to play (in the) Premier League and with one of the biggest clubs in the world. It’s a dream come true for me.

“I play as a number six and I’m like a bit more (of a)defensive player. I think I can help this club defensively and I will have good organisation in the middle. I think that’s my job.”

Liverpool have now signed three players this summer with the signing of Dominik Szoboszlai, Alexis Mac Allister and now Wataru Endo.

The club has been looking to add the required teeth to its midfield with the departures of Henderson and Fabinho.

Liverpool failed to land it’s two main targets on the said position with Moises Caiced and Lavia, both joining Chelsea on long term contracts.
