Early life and career
Neymar da Silva Santos Jr. was born on February 5, 1992, in Mogi das Cruzes, a city near São Paulo. He grew up in a small house in a working-class neighborhood with his father, mother, and younger sister, Rafaella. Neymar started playing football after drawing inspiration from his father who was a professional footballer himself.
He joined the youth academy of Santos FC in 2003, where he showed his talent and potential. He made his first team debut for Santos in 2009, when he was only 17 years old.
