Real Madrid are reportedly targeting Arsenal’s star centre-back William Saliba and are prepared to break the record for the highest transfer fee for a defender.
Saliba, regarded as one of the Premier League’s best defenders alongside Virgil van Dijk, has attracted significant interest from Real Madrid.
Arsenal, however, are reluctant to sell him and have set a £100 million ($124m) price tag, as Saliba’s contract runs until 2027.
According to Sky Suisse, Real Madrid’s leadership has already held talks with Saliba’s representatives, signaling their strong interest despite the potential record-breaking cost.
The report also suggests that Saliba views Real Madrid as his “dream” club and is eager to play alongside his friend and France teammate Kylian Mbappé.
With Saliba currently in Dubai for warm-weather training with Arsenal, this transfer saga is one to watch closely ahead of the summer window.
