Al Taawoun ended their last season on a 7 match win streak, were looking to continue their form in the new season away from home against Al Fateh.

Andrei Girotto scored on his debut for the club helping the side to a draw after Feras Al-Brikan had opened the scoring for Al Fateh.

In contrast to their opponents, Al-Taawoun were not involved in the Arab Club Champions Cup, ensuring that they entered the new season with a fresh squad.

Last season they had the second best away record and will be looking to continue with that form as they travel to another away match.
