Rüdiger’s own goal and an Antoine Griezmann goal gave Atlético the lead back, but Dani Carvajal’s vital finish late in the game tied the score once more.
After extra time, Real Madrid prevailed thanks to goals from Stefan Savić’s own goal and a last-minute long-range effort from Brahim.
Real Madrid will play FC Barcelona or Osasuna in Sunday’s Spanish Super Cup final.
