In a UEFA Euro qualification encounter against Azerbaijan in 2006, Ronaldo delivered a moment of magic for Portugal.
Miguel whipped a beautiful team move into the box, which Deco expertly controlled.
Ronaldo poked the ball into the air before striking it acrobatically in mid-flight.
The ball hit the underside of the crossbar, rolled past the goal-line, then rebounded back out after the Portuguese forward made a lovely connection with it.
Ronaldo appealed with the officials, but it was to no avail, as the goal was ruled off.
What a fantastic goal it would have been. If it had stood, you’d be staring at one of his most important aims.
Cristiano Ronaldo easily has the best catalogue of wrongly disallowed goals 😢 pic.twitter.com/H2eOoYMPtN
