Max Verstappen claimed his 41st career victory at the Canadian GP, equalling Ayrton Senna’s record. Fernando Alonso of Aston Martin finished second, while Lewis Hamilton of Mercedes took third place. Charles Leclerc of Ferrari finished fourth after starting from 11th position.
Verstappen’s win was his eighth consecutive podium finish and sixth win this season. Hamilton claimed his third podium finish this season and now has 194 career podium finishes. Alonso finished second, claiming his second second-place finish in 2023 and surpassing Kimi Raikkonen’s record of 103 career podiums with a total of 104.
In the driver standings, Verstappen leads with 195 points, followed by Perez with 126 points and Alonso with 117 points. Hamilton is in fourth place with 102 points. In the constructor standings, Red Bull Racing leads with 321 points, followed by Mercedes with 167 points and Aston Martin with 154 points.
Verstappen’s win also marked a significant achievement as he matched Senna’s career wins at a younger age. Red Bull also achieved their 100th victory in Formula 1.
