Williams Driver Alex Albon Believes That They "Really Do Come Alive When The Track Becomes Cold"

“We were out of position on the grid in my view due to a tricky Qualifying, but we had a great start, made up some positions off the line, and then had our elbows out at a couple of points during the race. We were strong, we fought hard, and our race speed was faster than anticipated. It was a difficult race with a lot of management, but we pulled it off.

“We’re not quite midfield pace, but we’re close, and getting a point in the first race is fairly incredible. I’m overjoyed and proud of the team; everyone at Williams Racing did an excellent job.”

“If you’d told me we’d finish in the points going into this weekend I’d have – well I don’t know what I’d have done to you but if was fairly special and honestly not just for me, Logan was pretty quick as well, we were both up there and fighting.”

“We were actually on separate packages this weekend and in the end they both worked fairly well,” Albon said. “We’ve certainly got potential coming – I know there’s some more speed in the car and ideally over the next few races we can demonstrate that, I’m obviously very pleased and credit to the team as well for all their hard work.

“I’ve said it before, We really do come alive when the track becomes cold.”
